What we did

To improve child development outcomes, it's vital for researchers and policy-makers to know what works. To find this out, we need to collect evidence. This paper reviewed psychosocial interventions in lower- and middle-income countries (LMICs).

 

What we found out

1. The most effective techniques identified were: 

Caregiver psychoeducation

Play/pretend
Talking to baby Responsive parenting
Use of toys Attachment building.

2. ​​​​​The most effective interventions tended to:

Have a longer duration

Be more intensive Address mothers' mental health
