Centre for Family Research

A tightly packed group of colourful, floating balloons

It's our birthday! The CFR turns 57, today! To celebrate, we're indulging ourselves in a little trip down memory lane....

Our History

The research group that grew into the Centre for Family Research was established on 6th October, 1966, by then post-doc fellows Martin Richards and Joanna Ryan. Click here to read more about how the Centre was established, and some of the changes that have happened along the way.

What have we been doing, all this time?

To learn more about our work, you can read back over every Annual Report that we've ever produced! These include details of our team members and the many research activities that have been undertaken in our centre over the last 57 years.

Throwback to when the CFR turned 50

It's been a few years, now, since our last 'Big Birthday'. You can click this link to find out more about how we celebrated that milestone, and this link to browse through the CFR Archive that was created for the occasion.

It's not now very long until the big 6-0. How should we celebrate? (Answers on a postcard?!)
